Bhupinder Singh, MD, FASN, FNKF, FCRS

Scientific Advisor

Dr. Bhupinder Singh is an ABIM board certified internist and nephrologist and ASH certified specialist in hypertension. He is a Clinical Professor of Medicine (Volunteer) at University of California Irvine School of Medicine. 

He has more than 25 years of clinical and research experience, including conducting more than 50 clinical trials in nephrology. He was a Founder of Southwest Kidney Institute following which he was the Executive Director of Research and Medical Affairs at ZS Pharma. He is currently the VP of Clinical Development at Allakos.

Dr. Singh is the Immediate Past President and a Founding Board Member of Cardio Renal Society of America (CRSA), and has also served on the boards of several other organizations including Twinepidemic, Inc, Transplant First Academy, Nutriment International, International Alliance for the Prevention of AIDS and Nephronet. He has volunteered for various cardio-renal organizations like the PKD Foundation, National Kidney Foundation, Nephcure and Mended Hearts. He also serves on the Medical Advisory Board of Cricket Health, Aseptiscope and PatienTrials.

Dr. Singh’s research work has been published in esteemed journals like the New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of American Medical Association and Kidney International. He has co-authored more than 100 scientific publications and presentations.

Dr. Singh graduated from Armed Forces Medical College in India. He was a recipient of the “National Talent” merit scholarship during his medical school. His internal medicine training was at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI and nephrology fellowship at SUNY Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, NY.  He is a Fellow of ASN, NKF and CRSA.
